FINNISH TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM FOR INDUSTRIAL SAFETY

 

FITPIS provides a national framework for co-operation between Finnish industry, researchers and governmental bodies for safety research and development.

 

What is FITPIS?

 

  • Unofficial, non-profit, voluntary stakeholder platform for safety-related research and development, started 2007
  • Platform helps to produce new sustainable solutions for foreseen safety issues
  • Based on European level initiative– European Technology Platform for Industrial Safety

 

Aims of FITPIS ?

 

VISION: Finnish industry will be one of European top safety performers due 2015. Finland will be a recognised provider of safety solutions, know-how and services

 

MISSION: To create competitive advantages through sustainable safety solutions

 

Platform operates via activation, recognition, evaluation and support for nationally important development activities.

  • Provides up-to date knowledge of research and development needs of Finnish industry
  • Helps to prioritise research needs and to set common issues and activities
  • Provides forum for public-private partnership and discussion
  • Helps to form research consortia
  • Helps SME’s to participate in international projects and activities
  • Connects Finnish shareholders to the European safety platform ETPIS

Initiative for Measuring Commercial and Business value of Safety solutions

  • Synchronization of international activities, EU-level interest
